An American political analyst and journalist says the US coup failure against the government of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is “a sign that Empire’s days as hegemon are over.” 

For the first time in the history of Pakistan’s parliament, its members chanted “Death to America” as they rejected a no-confidence vote, which sought to oust Prime Minister Khan, saying “foreign powers” are interfering in the country’s democratic process.

Qasim Khan Suri, the National Assembly deputy speaker, dismissed the no-trust move against the prime minister on Sunday, terming it as “contradictory” to Article 5 of Pakistan’s Constitution.

Suri said that the motion was presented on March 8 and should be conducted according to the law and the Constitution, stressing, “No foreign power shall be allowed to topple an elected government through a conspiracy.”

The Pakistani president later dissolved the National Assembly on Khan’s advice.

“The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, has approved the advice of the Prime Minister,” a statement from his office said, meaning fresh elections must be held within 90 days.

Twitter “permanently suspended” the retired US Marine Corps officer Scott Ritter on Wednesday, accusing him of engaging in prohibited behavior by questioning the claims of Ukrainian authorities that Russian soldiers had massacred civilians in Bucha near Kiev. Ritter is best known as the former UN weapons inspector who doubted US claims about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, invoked by Washington as a pretext for the 2003 invasion.

“So apparently I’ve been suspended from Twitter for the crime of challenging the orthodox narrative of the so-called Bucha massacre,” Ritter said on his Telegram channel, sharing a screenshot of the message he received from the Big Tech platform.

Ritter’s tweet did not contain calls for abuse or harassment, or wish physical harm on anyone, Shadowproof journalist Kevin Gosztola pointed out, arguing that his ban “shows how Twitter Rules can be twisted to silence US foreign policy critics.”

The rules were recently updated to include “denying mass casualty events took place,” Gosztola noted, but he said Ritter hadn’t done that, either.

 A former executive on British television confirmed that mainstream media (MSM) outlets are prevented from questioning the official government narrative. He also denounced these outlets for being “cheerleaders” for the government instead of upholding the tenets of journalism.

Mark Sharman, former Sky News executive and ITV producer, made these revelations during an interview on “The HighWire.” Citing an example from his homeland, Sharman told program host Del Bigtree that the British Office of Communications (Ofcom) is responsible for keeping television stations in line with what the government wants to hear.

Bigtree played a short clip of the TV executive during his March 20 interview with talk show host Dan Wootton.

“[Ofcom issued] a warning – actually, it’s like a little bulletin – that basically says ‘Do not question the official government line.’ To be fair, [it] said you can have opposition voices on, but … you must intervene if there’s any danger of harmful misinformation,” Sharman said at the time.

“I think that warning affected all broadcasters. Most of the major [ones] followed; only one or two smaller [broadcasters] got caught. One community radio was censored for putting something out. Florida Governor DeSantis Emerges As An American Leader

As I reported on April 4 (https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2022/04/04/hats-off-to-florida-governor-ron-desantis-an-american-leader/ ), Disney, once upon a time a respected and trusted company, is today a lobby for sexual perversion.  The Florida legislature passed the “Parental Rights in Education” bill into law, and Disney’s CEO, Bob Chapek, has taken issue with it.  As far as Chapek is concerned, the rights of a tiny minority of sexual perverts take precedent over parental rights.  Chapek thinks parents have no right to protest the public education system brainwashing their children into sexual perversion and transgenderism. 

It turns out that Disney had purchased via campaign contributions from a previous legislature the right to govern itself independently of the county governments in which Disney resides.  When  Chapek announced that Disney’s goal was to have parental rights ” be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts” and to support organizations working to make that happen, Florida Ron DeSantis reminded Chapek that Florida “is governed by the interests of the people of the state of Florida—it is not based on the demands of California corporate executives.”  The Florida government has made it clear that Disney’s unique privilege is subject to repeal.

Polls show that an overwhelming majority of Floridians, including a majority of Democrats, favor parental rights over sexual perverts’ rights.  Families are canceling their Disney memberships and are calling on social media for boycotting Disney. No parent concerned about their children should ever support Disney by taking them to a Disney venue.  ......read more.......
