 big coverage of the empire's hypocrisy even though it ain't their intent. it seems that palestinians don't qualify for human rights protection though you may wonder why;

On March 3, the US State Department has put on its website a hilarious statement titled The United States Opposes the ICC Investigation into the Palestinian Investigation.

In a nutshell, the statement exposes that the Joe Biden Administration has blinked for a second time on the human rights situation in West Asia by refusing to even acknowledge that the ICC investigation into the “Palestinian situation” is about human rights first and foremost.

The State Department’s argument essentially narrows down to a bureaucratic point questioning the ICC’s jurisdiction to investigate the human rights violations issues that involve the state of Israel and, secondly, that “Palestinians do not qualify as a sovereign state and therefore, are not qualified to obtain membership as a state in, participate as a state in, or delegate jurisdiction to the ICC.”

Human rights issue ought to be felt in the blood and felt along the heart. They are not the stuff of cold reasoning from legal angle or of political expediency. The State Department statement on the hapless Palestinian brings to mind what Pablo Picasso once said, “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.”

Such sophistry to quibble over the tragic plight of the Palestinians will reduce the American diplomats to con artists on the global stage. The fact of the matter is that The State of Palestine is recognised by 138 UN members, and since 2012 it has a status of a non-member observer state in the United Nations. Palestine is a member of the Arab League, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the G77, the International Olympic Committee, and other international bodies.

The US is punishing the messenger — ICC’s prosecutor — for showing the audacity to rake up the Palestinian issue when she is due to retire in June!

The State Department claims that it “remains deeply committed to ensuring justice and accountability for international atrocity crimes” but ICC happens to be “a Court of limited jurisdiction. Moreover, the United States believes a peaceful, secure and more prosperous future for the people of the Middle East depends on building bridges and creating new avenues for dialogue and exchange, not unilateral judicial actions that exacerbate tensions and undercut efforts to advance a negotiated two-state solution. We will continue to uphold our strong commitment to Israel and its security, including by opposing actions that seek to target Israel unfairly.” ........read more..........

 its easy to see who he represents;

 until november there was always the illusion of being able to vote yourself a new solution to old problems but now even that illusion is gone, except for the remaining true believers, and remember that there is no political party that represents me these days;

I've written several articles pointing out that we can't vote our way out of this mess.  When the November 2020 elections were stolen - literally, through electoral fraud - the conservative side of US politics was (rightly) furious;  but they're talking in terms of winning the next election, and undoing the damage.  That's not going to happen.  The electoral legislation that the Democratic Party is right now ramming through Congress is designed to ensure that it alone wins elections from now on.  Anyone else won't get a look-in unless the powers that be decide to throw the other side a bone or two, to satisfy those they consider dangerous or obsessive.

This has led several commenters to talk (in so many words) in terms of civil war, armed resistance, and the like.  I've said on more than one occasion that I've seen it happen too often in other parts of the world, and it doesn't solve the problem.  It merely compounds the misery for the survivors.  However, I fear greatly that it'll be inevitable sooner or later, because those who've seized power are adamant that they'll never give it up.

Perhaps the best summary of their perspective, and the almost religious way in which the progressive left sees its mission, has been penned by The Smallest Minority in his essay "Immanentize the Eschaton!"  If you haven't already read it, I highly recommend that you click over there and do so, not just once, but repeatedly.  It clarifies the stakes for both sides, and provides an immense amount of food for thought.  In fact, go read it before you continue with this article.  It's worth your time.

Conservatives may believe that the restoration of our constitutional republic is of overriding importance (and, from a political perspective, I agree with them):  but, in terms of that same constitution, the progressive Left has committed high treason.  They've subverted and undermined the US political process to steal power from the legitimately elected candidate.  They know that if they ever lose power, those who take the reins from them will want criminal investigation and prosecution of all those involved in that electoral fraud - and one of the penalties for high treason is death.  For the left to allow the right to win would be to commit at least political, if not a very physical suicide.  This they will never do voluntarily.............read more........

 caitlin focuses on the root of much of our troubles;

new Gallup poll finds that Americans’ opinion of Russia and China have plummeted to historic lows this year, with 79 percent of the population now reporting an unfavorable view of China and 77 percent reporting an unfavorable view of Russia.

The hate predictably falls along partisan lines, with Republicans showing more disfavor toward China and Democrats reserving more of theirs for Russia, but there is plenty of overlap. China is only seen positively by 10 percent of Republicans compared to 27 percent of Democrats, while only sixteen percent of Dem voters view Russia in a positive light compared to 25 percent of Republicans. Unfavorable opinions of both nations dominate across the board no matter how you slice it.

In a recent Mintpress News article titled “After Years of Propaganda, American Views of Russia and China Hit Historic Lows“, Alan MacLeod points the finger at the obvious culprit in this shift in public opinion:............read and watch more......
