I am pleased to read that Ron Unz has come around to agree with me and Gilbert Doctorow that Russian president Putin’s toleration of endless provocations is leading directly to war.

Putin’s legalistic approach to conflict is highly unrealistic, considering Trump’s lawlessness and the lawlessness of Europe.

Ron Unz notes that the never-ending conflict in Ukraine is turning European governments into totalitarian institutions determined to repress dissenting opinions. In this way, Putin is bringing about the destruction of accountable governments in the West.
