Sexual violence against women on French public transport has increased 86% since 2016, according to new data released today from the National Observatory on Violence against Women (Miprof) A disproportionate number of foreign nationals are involved in such crime. According to a 2023 report by the SSMSI, the statistical bureau of France’s Interior Ministry, 69% of violent robberies, assaults, and sexual attacks in the Île-de-France (Paris) transport network in 2022 were committed by foreign nationals. The Miprof survey also shows that 7 out of 10 women who live in the Île-de-France region have already been victims of sexual violence during their lifetime..........see.........
