This post is simple: it is an ongoing list of polls showing that a majority of the American people are opposed to taking military action against Iran.

All the polls are taken within the past two years (list updated on February 22nd 2026). This will be an ongoing list as more polls come out to show how unpopular a war with Iran would be.

The Economist/YouGov Poll, Conducted From Feb 20 - 23, 2026 (1,551 U.S. Adult Citizens)

• Only 27% support military action in Iran with 49% against, a net -22% net support.
• If you remove Republicans, 65% of Democrats/Independents Oppose military actions versus just 12% support, which is a -53% net support.
• Only 29% support using military force to overthrow Ayatollah Ali Khamenei versus 39% who oppose.
• If you remove Republicans, 50% of Dem/Ind oppose versus on 16% support, net -34% support.............more.........
