i've been hearing about a constitutional convention for fifty years;

 It appears that people are just becoming aware how corrupted our system of government has become. Some of these “newbys” are looking at solutions including an Article V convention of the states. I hope that they can curb their enthusiasm long enough to look at how badly this could turn out. I also hope they study our history and learn what happened the last time the colonies met to discuss modifying the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union. The delegates from twelve colonies met (Rhode Island and the Providence Plantations did not send any delegates) and decided that they could not save the current confederation. In their wisdom, they decided to abolish the existing government and this conference became the Constitutional Convention...........more............
