A fascinating exchange took place at a UN press briefing the other day between China Global Television Network’s Xu Dezhi and the UN’s Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General Farhan Haq about the US military occupation of Syria. The exchange is interesting both for the wild pro-US bias shown by a UN official, and for the way it illustrates how much truth can be exposed when journalists do what they’re supposed to do in the press gallery.

Xu, who has done on-the-ground reporting in Syria in the past, asked Haq some challenging questions about an attack on a US military base in eastern Syria last week which injured multiple American troops and killed an American contractor. In his response, Haq made the extremely incorrect claim that there are no US armed forces in Syria, and refused to say whether the US military occupation of part of the country is illegal.

Here’s the UN’s transcript of the key part of this exchange (emphasis added by me):

Xu: Do you not urge everyone to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria?

Haq: Well of course, that’s a given, and obviously it’s important that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria is respected. At the same time you are aware of the complexity of the situation of foreign forces, but we call for them to exercise restraint.

Xu: But, do you think the presence of the US military in Syria is illegal or not?

Haq: That’s not an issue that we’re dealing with at this stage. There’s been a war.

Xu: But, is that… because it sounds very familiar this week. We talk a lot about the UN Charter, the international law and relative resolutions.  But, it sounds to me, a foreign ministry based presence in another country without invitation, sounds like something else to me.

Haq: I’ll leave your analysis to you.  That there’s… At this stage there’s no…

Xu: What’s the difference between the situation in Syria and the situation in Ukraine?

Haq: There’s no US armed forces inside of Syria.  And so I don’t have a… It’s not a parallel situation to some of the others.

Xu: You’re sure there’s no US military personnel in Syria?

Haq: I believe there’s military activity.  But, in terms of a ground presence in Syria, I’m not aware of that.

Xu: Okay.  Five US service members were injured in that attack.  If there were no US service members in Syria, how could they got injured?  That’s weird, right?  Should I ask you about that?  And by the way, if you’re talking about the resolution, the international law here is the resolution from Security Council 2254 (2015), I believe, it says in its PA [preambular] paragraph, “reaffirming its strong commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic and to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations”.

Haq: Yes.  I’m aware of that.  And as you see, that is accepted by the members of the Security Council itself.

Xu: Yeah.  So, again, back to my question, is that illegal to have presence in Syria for the US base, according to the relevant resolution that I just read out?

Haq: The relevant resolution does call for that and we call on all countries to respect that.  I wouldn’t go beyond that at this stage...........more........

The chilling body camera footage, released by the Fairfax County Police, reveals the disturbing reality of modern policing in America.

Police Chief Kevin Davis announced the termination of Sgt. Wesley Shifflett, the officer who fired the fatal round into Johnson's chest, stating that Shifflett's actions failed to adhere to the agency's use of force policies... an understatement at best. While Shifflett's attorney argues that his client will be exonerated on appeal, it's hard to ignore the fact that no weapon was ever recovered from the scene, raising serious questions about the legitimacy of the officer's decision to use lethal force.

The video documents a brief, frantic nighttime chase through a mall, parking garage, and into a wooded area. In the crucial moments before the fatal shots, it is difficult to discern any clear details of Johnson's actions. Despite Shifflett's claims that he ordered Johnson to show his hands, the video does not capture any such command.

While some may argue that Johnson failed to comply with police commands, the critical question remains: Does a mere suspicion of shoplifting warrant such a violent and deadly response from law enforcement?......more.......

The U.S. and U.K. media have been a continuous source of misinformation and lies on this topic, so it’s not surprising that most Americans believe that Russia is losing badly.

But it simply isn’t true.

Over 200,000 dead Ukrainian soldiers speak as if from the grave about how badly Ukraine is losing. They’ve lost much of their best personnel and are sending fresh troops to the front lines with only rudimentary training. Many of them don’t last more than a couple of days.

On the other hand, Russia is in the process of mobilizing 400,000 new troops. That’s in addition to perhaps 400,000 now in Ukraine, and 300,000 or more in reserve.

Ukraine is also low on ammunition, while Russia has dramatically been increasing ammo production. Russia also maintains sizable leads in every major category of equipment from aircraft, to tanks, to artillery.

A Last Hurrah?

It appears that Ukraine is preparing for a significant spring offensive, supported by new equipment from NATO and fresh troops trained in NATO countries, but Russia is also preparing for it.

It seems like a last-ditch effort to push Russia back on the battlefield, but its success, if it happens, is far from certain.

Why the Dollar-based International System Is Breaking Up

The Federal Reserve’s higher interest rates after 12 years of zero interest rates are devaluing the asset side of banks’ balance sheets.  This frightens depositors and they withdraw their deposits.  Depositors also are withdrawing their money because they can get much higher interest rates on safe US Treasuries. According to some reports, $1 trillion has already been withdrawn from US banks.  Bloomberg is reporting rumors that Schwab’s $7 Trillion empire based on low rates is cracking from bond losses.  In the face of this vulnerability of the financial system, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates further.

There is also the problem of the currency and interest rate derivatives.  No one knows the risk in these instruments.  The US dollar itself is declining in use as world reserve currency.  Alarmed by Washington’s weaponization of the dollar with sanctions and confiscations, much of the world is arranging to abandon the dollar’s use to settle international trade accounts, but the supply of dollars is not declining.  This implies a fall in the dollar’s exchange value. The offshoring of manufacturing and food production has made the US heavily dependent on imports.  A loss in the dollar’s exchange value resulting from countries settling their trade balances in other currencies means a sharp rise in US inflation.  

The Federal Reserve hasn’t the intelligence to think through the consequences of its higher interest rate policy.  The federal government cannot comprehend the consequences of offshoring for the US trade deficit or the consequences of continuing massive US budget deficits for the Treasury market........more.........

US Media Complicit in Two Mass Murders:  Covid Vax and Fentanyl

Just as the US media helped Big Pharma and its marketing agents at NIH, CDC, and FDA murder and destroy the health of millions of people by lying about the safety and effectiveness of the mRNA “vaccine,” the US media is responsible for the widespread outbreak of fentanyl deaths of young Americans.

On March 29, the morning’s story on Fox News is the escalation in the number of Americans dying from fentanyl. The danger of the drug is unknown to Americans, because its role in George Floyd’s death was covered up by media whose agenda was to get a white cop.  Getting officer Chauvin was the agenda, not telling the truth about the cause of Floyds’s death.  

The media accused Chauvin and pronounced him guilty prior to his trial, formerly grounds for dismissal of all charges against the accused, of suffocating Floyd by keeping his knee on Floyd’s neck while Floyd complained that he couldn’t breathe.  This lie, repeated and repeated, presented Chauvin as a heartless racist murderer immune to the pleas of his victim and made a fair jury and a fair trial impossible.  Chauvin was convicted before his trial began.  Fellow police officers are accused of failing to stop a murder and are being pressured to cop a plea for reduced charges.  Certainly, they can expect no justice.

George Floyd died from overdosing on fentanyl.  The coroner’s report said Floyd had in his blood more than a fatal dose of fentanyl.  Without the hoopla of “knee-on-the-neck” fentanyl was the obvious cause of Floyd’s death..........more........

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is not bothered by criticism from Democrats and the mainstream media after he released over 40,000 hours of unseen footage from the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. McCarthy released the unseen footage to Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who spent several days airing footage on his program.

During an interview with Breitbart News, the California Republican is now promising to release the Jan. 6 security footage to the general public. McCarthy said his team will need to review all of the footage to address any security concerns before they release it all.

“We just want to make sure we go through them all, and it takes time,” McCarthy said. “The first thing that Tucker said too, was he didn’t want to show any exits to cause any problems.”

“This is all about transparency. I think it’s better for transparency that anyone can make their own decision, and as we walk through these, these are many more hours of tapes than the January 6 committee told us. It’s not 14,000. In less than five years, we’ve had four people who identify as transsexual committing a mass shooting.

In November of 2018, Snochia Moseley, a man who identified as a woman, wounded three and killed three after opening fire at his place of employment in Aberdeen, Maryland.

In May of 2019, a Colorado woman who identified as male shot up a school, killing one and wounding eight.

In November of 2022, a Colorado man who shot up a gay nightclub, killing five and wounding 18, was identified as transsexual.

On Monday, 28-year-old Audrey Elizabeth Hale, a woman who identified as a man, entered a Nashville Christian elementary school with a firearm. She murdered three adult staffers and three nine-year-old children.

In less than five years, that’s four mass shootings committed by people who make up about one-half of one percent of the population. So that works out to around 2.75 mass shootings per million transsexuals over four years.

By almost any significant metric, this is not America’s finest hour. We do not appear to be respected or feared economically, militarily, or in any other way by rival nations. Americans do not feel confident about the future, and we are seemingly more polarized along partisan lines than ever before.

Adding to our collective sense of dread is the sight of our nation’s geographic integrity slipping away. Almost daily we see untold numbers of foreign nationals trampling what used to be our southern border, demanding rights and privileges that previously were reserved for citizens and legal residents.

Rather than protect our nation’s sovereignty, the temporary caretakers of the executive branch are actively encouraging its decline. At this point, a credible case can be made that this is not a well-intentioned asylum program spun out of control, but every bit the invasion the images and data tell us it is.

Saying the “I-word” today seems to trigger those who barely follow the news as well as dogmatic anti-borders activists. “It’s not an armed force, so it can’t be an invasion!” is the most common retort.

A Google definition search of the word “invasion” produces three meanings, only one of which refers to an armed force. The others refer to “an incursion by a large number of people or things into a place or sphere of activity,” and “an unwelcome intrusion into another’s domain.”

Either definition seems to fit our current predicament.

In the time since Joe Biden took the oath of office, at least 5.5 million foreign nationals have illegally entered our country. Very few of them will likely ever leave. Sanctuary politicians can recite bumper sticker slogans like “immigrants make our communities stronger,” but the $150 billion price tag for illegal immigration is a net loss for the country. Coincidentally (or not), this happened on the same morning of a school shooting by a transgender who kept a manifesto and mapped out his plan in Nashville, TN. The Biden White House on Monday afternoon called for Republican lawmakers to back a ban on so-called ‘assault weapons’ following the Nashville school shooting.

Both of these incidents happened months after Nashville Predators Foundation teamed with Nashville Police in offering People $50 Kroger cards to turn in their firearms.

Brian Glenn of Right Side Broadcasting Network shared the news Monday morning, calling it a “raid” and said they would continue to monitor the story.

Marjorie Taylor Greene can be seen telling off an ATF Public Information Officer below, saying, “it’s very odd for them to be treated this way.”........more........
