i'm all for honorable cops doing a necessary job but things like this post expose are the meat of what the majority of us oppose;

Minneapolis, MN — Just miles from where George Floyd took his last breaths on Earth as they were squeezed from his body by officer Derek Chauvin, Daunte Wright was targeted by police over an alleged expired tag. Because the American police state is a violent behemoth which knows no self-restraint, a few moments into the stop and Wright would be killed at the hands of those who claim to protect him.

Since that fateful day, Wright’s mother, Katie Wright has become an activist. She now drives around the city and legally films police interactions to make sure other folks in town don’t face the same fate as her son.

Despite the fact that filming cops is completely legal, video footage released this week shows cops — from the same department who murdered her son — harassing Mrs. Wright for filming.

According to the activist group Families Supporting Families Against Police Violence, Katie Wright was recording a police interaction this week and streamed it to Facebook Live. The video shows her recording several officers involved in a traffic stop from a very safe distance away, on the other side of the median.

During the live video, one of the officers, apparently angered by someone practicing their first amendment right, decided to assault Mrs. Wright by grabbing her wrist, pulling her out of the car and grabbing her phone from her. The assault injured the innocent mother who was told she was under arrest for obstruction of justice — for filming police — legally.

“You know who I am, right? My name is Katie Wright, and you guys killed my son.” She tells the officer that if they take her to jail she’ll sue the department.

“Once I told him who I was, he let me go,” Wright said in the video. “I just pulled over nicely, making sure these people end up safe … because we know Brooklyn Center kills people.”

After assaulting an innocent mother of a child they killed, police released a statement justifying the attack on Mrs. Wright, claiming that the person they were arresting asked not to be filmed — which does not matter in public...........read more.......
